The Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart consists of Mothers, Wives, Sisters, Widows, Daughters, Stepdaughters, Granddaughters and legally adopted female lineal descendants of the Purple Heart recipient, even if the Purple Heart recipient is not a member of the MOPH. Our Ladies are proud to be members of this organization chartered by Congress. We share our support, compassion, and care with our brave military, all veterans, and their families.

THE REVEREND FATHER LEONARD STEGMAN SCHOLARSHP AWARD
Announcement

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Incorporated (LAMOPH), is pleased to announce that a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 is available to female Purple Heart recipients, mothers, wives, widows, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, adopted daughters, stepdaughters, nieces and direct lineal female descendants of combat veterans of the United States, who for their valiant service have been awarded the PURPLE HEART (founded by General George Washington in 1782). The female Purple Heart recipient or female descendant of a Purple Heart recipient is eligible to apply for the scholarship if their sponsor at the time of application, is a current member of the Military Order of the purple Heart or was killed in action or died of wounds suffered in action (when paperwork is presented). A Purple Heart recipient who is not a member of MOPH can become a member by applying on line on the MOPH website: www.purpleheartsa.us. Qualified applicants are defined as a female Purple Heart recipient, wife, widow, daughter, granddaughter, adopted daughter, stepdaughter, niece or direct lineal female descendent of a Purple Heart recipient. Please see the enclosed criteria and application forms. The application forms may be reproduced. All required information MUST BE SUBMITTED by April 1, 2014.

All applicants will be reviewed by the scholarship committee and the recipient will be recognized at our organization’s meeting May 3, 2014.

Thank you for your help notifying qualified applicants. It is our privilege to make this money available to a deserving student. It is in keeping with the mission of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart to encourage and facilitate the education of the female Purple Heart recipient and/or female descendent of the Purple Heart recipient.
